The Ellenbrook Area Residents’ Association continue to work hard to block a mineral extraction quarry in the area.
After a successful campaign which was supported by Grant Shapps, the MP for Welwyn Hatfield, Hertfordshire County Council’s Planning Committee voted to refuse the latest mineral extraction quarry application.
However, as this decision can still be appealed, Grant met with representatives of the Ellenbrook Area Residents’ Association to learn more about what they’re doing and to lend them his unwavering support.
Grant joined representatives on a walk around Ellenbrook and shown where the proposed quarry would be and the ecological and health damage it would do to the area and its residents.
Grant said of his time with representatives of the EARA:
“The Ellenbrook Area Resident’s Association remains steadfast in their opposition to the quarry proposals. Hertfordshire County Council must defend their decision and support the wishes of Ellenbrook residents if this goes to an appeal”.
He continued:
“I will continue to work with and support the EARA and Ellenbrook residents for as long as it takes to get this application thrown out for good.”
