Local MP Grant Shapps recently met with the team at Breaks Manor Youth and Community Centre in Hatfield.
“Breaks Manor provides a truly amazing service for Hatfield’s young people” said Grant of the visit and catch-up with volunteers and trustees at the centre, among them Chairman Barry Clark.
The Breaks Manor Youth and Community Centre has a long and rich history of providing a space for Hatfield’s young people to socialise, develop skills, and participate in activities such as woodwork and drama.
Grant sat down with members of the Breaks Manor team to catch up on the fantastic work the centre does. They discussed how the centre has evolved over the years, and how it acts as a focal point of the local community.
The centre provides a range of services including community coffee mornings, rooms and fields for hire for religious and prayer groups and sports events, and the Stage Call Community Arts School which hosts classes on drama, dance and singing.
Grant was very impressed by the effort, hard work and love the whole team put into making the centre the best it can be. He said:
“As always, it was a pleasure to drop into Breaks Manor and catch up with Barry and the team. The work they do here is so crucial to the local area, and I’m so pleased to hear they’re flourishing”.
Chairman Barry Clark thanked Grant for coming to visit:
“We were delighted to welcome Grant who has been a long-standing supporter of all we do at Breaks Manor for many years. We were pleased to showcase the most recent developments and focus on the wealth of usage the Centre was now experiencing”.
