Hatfield Foodbank alongside Trussel Trust and Citizens Advice work together to provide an important service to the wider community.
Welwyn Hatfield MP, Grant Shapps met with Revered Heather Dyce as well as Dominic Long, the foodbank manager, to learn all about how the charity operates and works with its partners to provide their services.
The food bank was established in October 2017 when three Hatfield churches – Gracemead Church, King’s Community Church and Kingdom Light Church – came together to help local people in crisis. It is part of the national network of food banks known as Trussell Trust.
Grant thanked Dominic for meeting him and showing him around the foodbank:
“It was wonderful to visit Hatfield Foodbank. The volunteers do such vital work for our community and it is great to see them working with many local organisations and shops.”
Dominic thanked Grant for taking the time to visit the foodbank:
“It was so good to have Grant visit Hatfield Foodbank. We were able to show him around our facilities and explain how we operate. As part of his visit, Grant met the Community Champions from our local Asda and Tesco stores - two of many organisations who support our work”
